Today is my first day on a new job that I applied for about 6 months ago. There was an ad in the paper for a website designer and I answered it, and after 1 month I gave up. I was still looking for a job like that and decided to answer the ad again, being it was still in the paper. After a week, I called them and they told me I was hired.

Now keep in mind I did go to college for this so on the application they asked me if I knew what a pc was? I had to think on that one because I just call mine a computer, and then knew that pc meant a personal computer.

So on my first day of the job, I was given my own email address and I was told to set up my account so that spam email would go to my junk email. That was easy, because that is something I did at home. Being I have my own internet provider, I always get junk email from them.

Now I am all set to do my first project. I was told my first project was to design a page for this new company that started up in a town about 5 miles away. How I like to do things is to get a feel of what the new business is going to look like, and what they are going to be doing, so I look at the business myself.

This new business is going to be snare shop, so I need pictures of different kinds of animals. Actually my knowledge about snares isn’t that great. I would have said about 6 years ago when you mentioned the word snare, I would have thought you were talking about drums.

Now to be a good website designer, the first thing you should do is lay out your pictures on something that you can have access to in case you want to change something. You could do it on the computer, but if something does not fit right, then you have to change out your whole lay out.

I find that not a good practice for a website designer. If you lay it out on a board and use little thumb tacks, that is your best solution, so in case you have to leave for a little bit, your idea is still there. Then after you get your ideas all on paper, then you can transfer to your own website design.

I wonder if they will give me a title or just call me a website designer!
