I had worked as computer programmer for four years. Then along with ma

I had worked as computer programmer for four years. Then along with many other people I was made redundant. I felt so sad because I didn't have anything to do all day. In three weeks time I knew my money was getting low. I went up to the pub to drown my sorrows.
Then I thought I had to get a new CV made up and apply for any computer jobs that were being advertised. I applied for more than one hundred jobs but didn't get one interview. I was so disappointed with all the letters saying no thank you to employing me.
I went to the job centre and one assistant told me it might be worth applying for a temporary job. It was a company doing web site development and they were searching for a temporary web designer. I applied and was fortunate to get an interview. That evening I got a phone call offering me the temporary job.
So I found myself working for World's Way Web Site Development Company on a fixed contract for one year. I worked in the First Division Web Site Development Office. I had to create and develop web sites for important companies.
When the help desk man was on holiday and virus hit our computer system. I suggested that I tried to fix the problem. The managing director of World's Way Web Site Development Company was delighted when I got rid of the virus. He offered me a permanent job but said that as the finances were limited it would be a part-time job of twenty five hours a week. I accepted knowing in a recession I would be hard pushed to find anything better.
I saved up and bought my own laptop which meant I could get rid of my old desktop computer. I did some on-line banking. I was happy that my finances were rising steadily. Even though I only had a part time job it was doing something I really loved. I decided to start my own business in my spare time. I got crystals and semi precious gem stones and sold them on an one-line auction site.
A year later World's Way web site development were doing much better and the recession lifted from my home country. The human resources officer asked me if I wanted to work for the company full time. My crystal business had given me an extra income. Amazingly I sold it for fifty thousand pounds. That gave me enough money to buy a studio flat.
