Webtech Advise

I am Jake and I am in my third year of College in one of the prestigious universities here in Manila. Although I am only in my junior year I am already earning a considerable amount of money which I use to help my parents pay for some bills at home. Is not that interesting?

There are lots of youth, whether in school or out-of-school, that is experiencing financial difficulties in their respective family. As a youth of today, I believe that we, the youth, have lots of things to offer. We can make our lives better by being more productive. I am now in my third year in Computer Science department of our university. I have a special interest in web design since I was in high school. Web design is something I feel I can put my creativity in and something that will bring out the best of my artistic abilities.

My friend Michael, who is a web designer taught me so many things that I needed to know. That was for free. I wanted to enrol in a short web design course but I cannot afford it. Aside from Michael's teaching, I also did lots of research works online and self-study. Michael was impressed with how far I have come so far when it comes to web design. He is so proud of me. He said that I have the brains as well as the determination to succeed in everything I undertake. Modesty aside, I know that I have the required intellect but I believe that it is really the determination to succeed that has brought me to where I am now.

At present, I have four clients for whom I am designing their respective websites. They love the fact that they pay for my services much cheaper than a professional web designer. I am still a student but my clients are already big time! They are business owners and professionals as well.

Yesterday, I met in person one of my online friends. It was our first meeting. We first met each other in a social network where we are both members. He wants me to design his website for a fee.

My laptop is the only thing that I have now that helps me earn good income for myself and my parents and siblings. The internet has also become an information highway for me where I explore and improve myself each day. I hope that this personal experience will inspire other youth to strive in achieving their ambitions and dreams.
