Webtech Advise

Last night I was talking to a friend of mine who works for another On-line chat room site. She helped with their Web Design because she says the chat room would be easier to monitor that way. I monitor for a different site. We only have 10 monitors and right now 45 chat rooms to watch. However, it's easy once you get used to the way we do it. We each keep a list of the monitors IDs we use in the rooms and keep track of the mood of the Chat Rooms and who is monitoring in them. These rules are agreed to before anyone gets access is common knowledge. Such rules are for all to have a pleasant experience. Everyone knows the rooms are monitored, no harmful chat and so on. Sometimes we're together but most of the time we monitor separately. Having several rooms at once keeps more monitors busy and awake. By backing each other up; if more than one problem arises at a time. One of the chat rooms has a theme of off world fantasy but all are set up to enhance a social network experience. Some people have very unique names or IDs for these rooms. All the monitors have numerous IDs to monitor with. Keeping track of what's going on with so many On-line users using the social network gets a bit busy for all us. This helps weed out the obnoxious chatters in a social network and of course with a connection to a nice chat room more people log on and the site makes more money. Many of our ON-line members tell us they have tried other sites and none are as fun as this one.

How nice people find each other on the web. Monica and I were talking about just that last night; a couple who met on her site, Lady Gwen and Sir Bart. We were instant messaging On-line late last night with those two. They are so in love and happy with each other. The first few nights they were both so nervous neither one would say much at all. They have come a long way toward the happiness they now share. Next month they are moving in together. Friendships and even love found On-line, how lovely that is. You do see a lot of very bad stories on the news about Internet dating, but there are some great love stories just starting up online every minute. How many people have met and fell in love in a chat room and never thought it would happen to them much less On-line. To find that mate to last a life time and that person could be in another time zone and/or even halfway around the world. It all does happen right in a chat room.
