Webtech Advise

I was playing games on a web site that i use all the time but my Internet connection seemed to be getting slower day by day over the past week, I knew it wasn't my laptop as I had only just bought it and when I was in the store I had made sure that when I was discussing which laptop to purchase that I had told the sales assistant that my Laptop would not only be used for work and email but I would be visiting certain web sites that had a lot of content so I would need a certain amount of ram.

The web site that I usually play on had quite a complex web design and the web design was updated on a frequent basis and since I could not control the web site or the Web Design i needed a laptop that would be able to cope.

I had had no previous problems with my Internet connection so I just assumed that the web design was yet again changing for this particular Web Site. Within 24 hours my Internet connection had gone from being slow to intermittent something was definitely wrong, I did a scan on my laptop as some web sites i have come across can download harmful data onto your computer. The scan came up with nothing and my Internet Connection had got no better, I decided before I contacted my Internet provider regarding my connection problems since it was only when using this particular site it happened that I would contact the site directly.

I sent an email to the web site discussing my concerns for the web design and the problems i was having with my Internet connection, they confirmed that yes their web site and design was a complex one with a lot of content but my laptop should indeed be able to cope with it.

I then decided it was time to contact my Internet provider which was to lead to some shocking information, i knew that I had the highest package that was available but what i did not know that the area i lived in had the minimum connection that was allowed for that package I wish i had of been told this initially it could of saved me alot of time and effort, I think that when you are paying for a service and a service that is countrywide that you should get what you pay for and if its not the best service available to you then you should be told and other options should be discussed this was not the case, since my Internet connection is broadband via my telephone line i cannot wait for my area to have cable, roll on cable is all i can say.
